Breaking Down How DigitalShield Keeps You Protected

DigitalShield is a custom-made personal cyber product providing best in-class coverage. With the digital landscape continually evolving, NFP is committed to helping you stay protected from online risks. That's why DigitalShield encompasses eight lines of potential cyber concerns into one all-inclusive, cost-efficient option.

Here is a breakdown of each coverage in this unique product.

Cyberattacks

Keeping your precious photos, videos and information in your hands is key, and we will do everything we can to retrieve and restore the data from your system in the event of a cyberattack. If a hacker carries out a cyberattack on you, we will pay the necessary costs incurred.

This includes restoring your computer to the performance level it was at prior to the attack. If it's not possible to fully restore the system, we will pay for the costs incurred up to the date of such determination.

Ransomware

DigitalShield covers the cost of cyber extortion expenses and ransom monies incurred as a result of a cyber extortion threat. In order to respond to a claim, we require you to consult with our expert service providers at CyberScout first to access the situation.

No ransom monies will be paid until we have provided prior written consent, although we may pay for cyber extortion expenses that weren't approved in advance if it wasn't practical for you to obtain our prior approval and, if consulted at the time, we would have approved the payment.

Identity theft

Believe someone may be using your identity? Our product covers the costs and services necessary if you fall victim to identity theft. You must inform us as soon as possible once you believe you've been targeted. This does not include costs associated to a business you are involved with.

Cyber crime

Cyber crime can vary from credit card fraud to phishing. That's why DigitalShield will pay for the costs of charges you have incurred, the funds you have transferred or the necessary costs of replacing your personal documents. Did a bad actor steal funds from your personal bank account, investment account or other financial institution without your knowledge? This product covers that too.

CyberScout will evaluate all credit card fraud and phishing losses to determine whether you or a third party are accountable for the loss.

Smart devices and wearables

Home devices are an integral part of our day, whether they're helping keep us organized, keeping our home comfortable or giving us access to entertainment. If you discover that your device has become damaged, altered or corrupted due to a cyberattack, DigitalShield will pay for the cost of restoring this back to its prior pre-cyberattack condition.

Cyberbullying

Protecting your children is your No. 1 priority and NFP wants to help.

We will pay for any necessary expenses incurred by you as a result of a cyberbullying event. This includes the cost of new school enrollment, temporary private tutoring and limited psychiatric services for you or a family member as prescribed by a physician or psychologist to address the mental anguish caused by cyberbullying incident. Our expert service providers, CyberScout, are also there to help and must be consulted upon the situation before any expenses are paid.

Reputation coverage

Your career has garnered you a great reputation and maintaining it is of utmost importance. Our reputation coverage will pay for clean-up costs incurred with cyber harassment, harmful publication or an internet clean-up event during the policy period or within 60 days afterwards.

DigitalShield will also cover necessary e-reputation costs as a result of harmful publication.

Cyberstalking coverage

While our partners at CyberScout have the resources to help you through a cyberstalking incident, we will pay for any cyberstalking response costs incurred during your policy and discovered within 60 days after the policy ends.

CyberScout is available 24-hours a day and 365 days with DigitalShield. Their incident response helpline will help advise you on whether your incident requires the policy to be triggered and a claim started.
